Intro

Shenzhen is located in the southern portion of the Guangdong Province, on the eastern shore of the Pearl River Delta. Neighboring the Pearl River Delta and Hong Kong, Shenzhen's location gives it a geographical advantage for economic development. In 1980, the first Special Economic Zone of China was built in this city. From then on, the city become a highlight of China, one known for its rapid economic growth.


History

More than thirty years ago, it just was a small fishing village called Baoan County. In 1979, it was renamed Shenzhen City. When the Special Economic Zone was built, the city was divided into six zones, four of which are located in the Special Economic Zone.

    Shenzhen's gastronomic delicacies, is a reflection of its population - a smorgasbord of authentic cuisine from the provinces of China.     Shenzhen was one of the first Chinese cities to open its doors to the outside world. Influenced by its rich neighbor-Hong Kong, it is certain that Shenzhen is a prosperous metropolis. Even so, there are not too many special souvenirs for visitors to take home. But don't be disappointed, as the city will redeem its visitors in other ways. As a fast developing metropolis, it has a good selection of department stores and shopping centers, where everything from basic commodities to high-quality brands can be found. Actually, this is an ideal destination for those who are addicted to shopping. Electrical appliances, fashionable and reasonable clothing, jewelry and seafood are some of the best choices for you to buy there.
    Night Life
    To experience nightlife in Shenzhen, visitors should check out one of the many bars and clubs. Locals, especially the young, go there to unwind, socialize with friends or just listen to music. This can be very relaxing for them after a busy and stressful workday. The city has two famous streets noted for their large number of bars and clubs. One street is located in Huaqiao City. The bars on this street are popular with young people. The other street is located in the Sea World Square of Shekou District. There are more than a dozen bars and cafes here, many of them catering to foreign visitors.
